Dillon

As I have sat and thought about what I need to share about Dillon I realized how much he has grown in such a short time. I can't believe that he is 5 years old!  Dillon is so smart and he is such a great helper.  He loves being a big brother and his face lights up when Tanner or Madison turn to him for support.  Dillon and Tanner usually wake up together in the morning and will play together while we sleep a little longer.  Dillon will even make himself and Tanner breakfast if they are hungry!  He is still always curious, which gets him in trouble a lot.  He reminds me of Curious George!  We are trying to teach him that it is not always about what he wants, but rather obedience.

Dillon is a friend to everyone.  He has so many friends and there is rarely a day that goes by that he doesn't play with friends.  His best friend is Parker and they go back and forth between houses almost everyday.  He has also met many new friends at school and talks about them at home.  Besides playing with friends Dillon is really interested in action heroes like Batman and Spiderman.  He also loves karate; we really hope to get him enrolled soon.  Although he says he doesn't need to go so anyone can teach him rather he needs to go so he can teach others to do karate since he is awesome!

This summer, Dillon taught himself to ride a bike without training wheels.  Cameron and I decided it was time for him to learn and Tanner needed a bigger bike, so we told Dillon that he needed to learn and we would buy him a new big bike or we would give his bike to Tanner and he wouldn't have one.  Kind of mean I know, but he stomped inside and pouted for a minute and then came back outside and grabbed his bike.  We asked if he wanted help and he said "NO".  About 20 minutes later Dillon was a pro!  He spent most of the summer riding his bike when he was outside.  We also spent a lot of time at 7 peaks, a water park, this summer.  Dillon is now big enough to go on most of the water-slides with us, so he has a great time. Dillon also loves ice cream so when a new ice cream shop opened near home this summer we visited often.  Dillon is adventurous and will try a new kind almost every time we go.

Dillon started Preschool at Eagle Valley Elementary with Ms. Cheryl, Ms. Maryanne, and Ms. Jody.  He goes Tues-Fri from 12:45 to 3:30.  He loves going to school and asks me everyday if it is his school day.  So far this year he has continued to learn and write his letter, numbers and colors.  They have also worked on things such as rhyming, syllables, seasons, eating healthy and exercise.  Dillon is also learning some sign language and like to come home and teach me what he has learned.  Dillon has never been a fan of coloring, but he has started to really enjoy it and is doing a great job staying in the lines.

Dillon helps hold Madi so I can give them all a bath at the same time.

Madison thought swinging with the boys was the best. She didn't stop smiling!

Out to ice cream with his neighbor friends.

All the kids taking a break from playing on the slip n slide.  Within minutes of putting the slide out it began to rain.  All of the kids sat on the porch and ate popsicles until they could slide again!
